Selection Day
February 5, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
What: Required day of interviews, lunch and activities for youth and adults who have submitted applications (application deadline Feb 1st) to participate in Summer 2023 CISV programs. For info and applications, click here
When: Sunday Feb 5,2023 9am-430pm (see below regarding when YOU should arrive)
Who: Youth and leader applicants–starting at your interview until 430pm, Parents of delegates: 330-430pm
Where: Old Town/Orono Y **PLEASE RSVP, including if dietary restrictions, by 1/30/23
Why: Participating in CISV is unique and intensive and we have only a few spots for each program we offer, so a thorough and thoughtful (and fun!) selection process is what is done in each chapter across the US. It used to be also with an overnight, but now we just do one day!
CISV Selection Day Schedule
850-9am–Leaders, Junior Counselors, Fortnight applicants arrive
Leader, JC, Fortnight Interviews-9-10am
950-10am Step up families arrive
Interviews, plus training component, 10am-noon
1030am–Village and YM families arrive
Village and Youth meeting interviews (approx 30 min per delegate): 1030-noon
10-12noon–Leaders, JCs, Fortnight Applicants training
1130-noon–Step Up applicants, Step up Chairs–join with above group
12-1pm–Lunch provided-Pizza, salad, fruit, dessert (please notify us of dietary restrictions)
1-430pm–CISV Activities (all leaders, JCs, Fortnight, delegates participating. Selection members observing)
330-430pm Parent Orientation meeting-separate–required
430pm–Dismissal –Thank you!
**Plan is to notify all applicants the results of Selection by Feb 9th. For those accepted, deposit of $500 is required by 2/12/23 to secure your spot. Leaders too, though no deposit required. Reminder–scholarships are available and need to be requested now. For information and application, click here
