Local Leadership Training (LLT) Chair

Below are tasks of this position.  It looks like alot, but all of it is learnable and doable and you will get alot of support!  There is a comprehensive training for LLTs--it is 10/23-24 this year (virtual).  See below for details. Our long time chair, Valerie Maurais, will be training the person interested in this position and providing guidance as needed.
  1. Train all delegation Leaders, Junior Counselors, Seminar Camp participants, Hosting Staff and Director(s), Camp Planners,Fortnight delegates participating in a CISV International Program;. Provide additional training to the Chapter Board, Junior Branch Advisors and Junior Branch Officers.  Ensure that the trainees are also scheduled for National Leader Training if required. 
  2. The Local Leadership trainer is required to attend National training every three years.  
  3.  Update Chapter documents according to the updates from NLT (National Leadership Training) including: Forms for leaders, LLT Manual, LLT Curriculum, any new documents created by LLT.
  4. Ensure trainees have access to electronic or hard copies of appropriate Program Guides.
  5. Maintain a Local Leadership Training Binder that can be passed on from one LLT to the next.
  6. Train any LLT replacements so LLT can still happen prior to NLT Workshops.
  7. Participate in the selection process of leaders, delegates, JCs, Seminar Camp participants, YM, and  Fortnight
  8. Act as the Chapter’s training liaison on any leadership training issue with the National Leadership Training Committee. This includes any issue or concern regarding a Leader, JC, Staff/Director, or other trained participant or incident being reported to the National Leadership Training Committee and copied to the appropriate Program Chair (i.e. Village Committee, Interchange Committee, etc.).
  9. Monitor the performance of leaders, staff members, directors, and JCs through National and International evaluations reporting and discussing problems/successes with appropriate members of the local Chapter Board.
  10. Maintain a supervisory relationship with selected leaders to ensure that they are taking good care of their delegations and to support them with any questions they have. Maintain contact with any leader(s) who need redirecting or careful monitoring.
  11. Ensure that debriefing is done with the leaders and participants upon reentry to the USA. Debriefing should be done within 30 days of their return
  12. Attend National Training Workshops for Local Leadership Trainers when they are offered. Become familiar with the National Leadership Training curriculum and attend a National Leadership Training session when possible. File a report with the Local Chapter following the Local Leadership Training Workshop(s). Please send a copy to the National Office by March 30.
  13. Work with local program chairs to ensure that selected leaders/staff/JCs/delegates are   registered on CISV Friends upon selection. Each participant will need to go to the site friends.cisv.org and register on their own.
Required training for new LLTs and once every 3 years (on zoom):
Saturday, October 23rd from 10 am - 4pm EST (with an hour lunch break, and many breaks in between!)
Sunday, October 24th from 10 am - 2pm EST (again, with a lunch break, etc).
